Regular Season Round 4: Liaoning FL - Guangsha L. 101-117

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Flying Leopards (3-1) in Yingkou on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (4-0) 117-101. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Flying Leopards. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Flying Leopards' 60. They outrebounded Flying Leopards 51-39 including 21 on the offensive glass. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Flying Leopards' players. American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: 3Eye) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points, 9 rebounds and 18 assists for the winners. International center Jinqiu Hu (208-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) produced 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU) added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Guangdong ST and Jiangsu D. Flying Leopards at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Shandong GS and Xinjiang FT. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions is looking forward to face Leopards (#11) in Shenzhen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Flying Leopards will play on the road against Jiangsu Dragons (#4) in Nanjing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
