Bottom-ranked Latvija U16 (0-4) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to fifth ranked Liepajas SSS (3-2) 74-70 on Sunday evening. Liepajas SSS forced 20 Latvija U16 turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Annija Kergalve (174-99) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and forward Emilija-Krista Grava (183-99) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Liepajas SSS's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Sarlote Balode responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Elizabete Bulane scored 11 points and 4 assists. Four Latvija U16 players scored in double figures. Liepajas SSS moved-up to second place, which they share with Latvija U17 and G4S Noorteliiga. Loser Latvija U16 still closes the standings with four games lost. Liepajas SSS will face Saldus (#6) at home in the next round.
