Regular Season Round 7: Correcaminos - Aaguacateros 75-89

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Correcaminos (3-2) against fourth ranked Aaguacateros (4-3) on Sunday night. Host Correcaminos were defeated by Aaguacateros in Ciudad Victoria 89-75. It was an exceptional evening for American-Puerto Rican Christopher Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) who led the winners and scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Four Aaguacateros players scored in double figures. American guard Kennedy Jones (188-89, college: Arlington Baptist) came up with 21 points (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and the other American import swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Pro Sports) added 19 points respectively for Correcaminos in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aaguacateros moved-up to third place, which they share with Mineros and Capitanes. Correcaminos at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Aaguacateros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Correcaminos will play again at home against Aaguacateros (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
