There was a surprise result in San Giorgio where fifteenth ranked Alba (1-6) beat higher ranked LTC Sangiorg. (3-4) 65-61 on Sunday. LTC Sangiorg. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for naturalized Argentinian swingman Santiago Boffelli (195-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Andrea Rampone (198-92) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side swingman Luca Falconi (190-91) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Giovanni Lenti (200-96) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Four LTC Sangiorg. players scored in double figures. LTC Sangiorg.'s coach Daniele Quilici tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Alba left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place in B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser LTC Sangiorg. dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Alba will face higher ranked Omnia Basket (#4) in Pavia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
