Very expected game when 14th ranked Battipaglia (1-6) was defeated on the road by second ranked Basket Barcellona (6-1) 79-75 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a great evening for swingman Fabio Stefanini (198-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Giovanni Bruni (185-82, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 11 points and 10 assists. At the losing side point guard Vincenzo Di-Capua (186-87) responded with 22 points and power forward Vittorio Visentin (205-95, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Five Basket Barcellona and four Battipaglia players scored in double figures. Basket Barcellona maintains second place in B with 6-1 record behind leader Cento, which they share with Piacenza. Newly promoted Battipaglia keeps the fourteenth position with six games lost. Basket Barcellona will face Palestrina (#3) in Roma in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Battipaglia will play at home against Roma Tiber (#11) and hope to win that game.
