Regular Season Round 5: Bnei Hertzeliya - Hapoel T-A 64-88
Date: November 5, 2017
The game in Hod Hasharon supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (3-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Bnei Hasharon (1-4). Hapoel Tel-Aviv smashed Bnei Hasharon 88-64 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 52-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Bnei Hasharon's 30 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American guard Jerel McNeal (190-87, college: Marquette) stepped up and scored 21 points and 5 assists for the winners and international Tomer Ginat (202-94, agency: Avi Zilberman) chipped in 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the former international swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Bnei Hasharon lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Eilat. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will meet at home Galil Gilboa (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Bnei Hasharon will play against Hapoel Eilat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
