Regular Season Round 5: Tianjin GL - Beijing D. 93-119

Date: November 7, 2017
Very predictable result when eighth ranked Beijing Ducks (3-2) rolled over 17th ranked Gold Lions (1-4) in Tianjin 119-93 on Tuesday. Beijing Ducks shot 60.3 percent from the field. Beijing Ducks had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Beijing Ducks looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international forward Xiaochuan Zhai (205-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Croatian-American center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU) contributed with 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) answered with 17 points and 6 assists and American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Gold Lions. Five Beijing Ducks and four Gold Lions players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Beijing Ducks moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Gold Lions at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with four games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Brave Dragons (#12) in Taiyuan in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Gold Lions will play on the road against Sturgeons in Jinjiang and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
