Regular Season Round 8: Correcaminos - Aaguacateros 97-93

The most important game in the last round took place in Ciudad Victoria between third ranked Aaguacateros (4-4) and sixth ranked Correcaminos (4-2) on Tuesday night. Aaguacateros were defeated by Correcaminos in a tough game on the road 93-97. Correcaminos made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Correcaminos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. 28 personal fouls committed by Aaguacateros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international guard Cezar Guerrero (185-92, college: Fresno St.) who scored 29 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American guard Kennedy Jones (188-89, college: Arlington Baptist) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) produced 22 points and Dominican guard Juan Coronado (193-83) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Five Correcaminos and four Aaguacateros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Correcaminos moved-up to fifth place. Aaguacateros at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Santos. Correcaminos are looking forward to face Toros (#10) in Nuevo Laredo in the next round where they are favorite. Aaguacateros will play at home against Libertadores (#11) and are hoping to win this game.
