Regular Season Round 6: TTU - Kalev/Cramo 71-86
Date: November 7, 2017
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tallinn: Kalev/Cramo (#1) and TTU (#8). TTU was defeated at home 71-86 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Kalev/Cramo. TTU managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Kalev/Cramo outrebounded TTU 43-30 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by TTU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Dutch center Thomas vanderMars (208-90, college: Portland) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Martin Dorbek (194-91) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Kalev/Cramo players scored in double figures. Point guard Norman Kabin (188-97, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Levi Giese (206-90, college: Lafayette, agency: Blacktop Management) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for TTU. TTU's coach Rait Kabin rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kalev/Cramo (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. TTU at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Kalev/Cramo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. TTU will play at home against Rapla (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
