The game in Guanajuato was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Capitanes (5-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Abejas (2-4). Capitanes defeated Abejas 111-99 on Tuesday. Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Abejas' 34 and made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St., agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international power forward Fernando Benitez (204-89) who added 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) during the contest. American guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) responded with 33 points (!!!) and international center Edgar Garibay (211-90, college: Long Beach St.) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Abejas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Capitanes moved-up to second place, which they share with Fuerza Regia and Mineros. Abejas lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Panteras. Capitanes will meet Panteras (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Abejas will play against the league's leader Soles and hope to secure a win.
