Regular Season Round 10: BC Nokia - Kauhajoki 80-83

Important game to mention about took place in Nokia. Fourth ranked Kauhajoki (7-3) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked BC Nokia (5-4) 83-80 on Wednesday evening. BC Nokia was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Kauhajoki dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to BC Nokia's 26. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Marcus Allen (191-94, college: Stanford) who helped to win the game recording 25 points. Forward Flenard Whitfield (201-90, college: W.Michigan) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Leyton Hammonds (203-94, college: Oklahoma St., agency: Inception Sports) replied with 23 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Vincent Council (186-90, college: Providence) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for BC Nokia. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kauhajoki have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. BC Nokia at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Kauhajoki will play against bottom-ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BC Nokia will play against Joensuun Kataja (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
