Regular Season Round 9: SKK Siedlce - Sokol Lancut 78-91

Bottom-ranked SKK Siedlce (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-78 loss to second ranked Sokol Lancut (8-1) in Siedlce on Wednesday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Sokol Lancut forced 25 SKK Siedlce turnovers. Strangely SKK Siedlce outrebounded Sokol Lancut 51-29 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by SKK Siedlce helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was point guard Kamil Zywert (185-96) who scored 17 points and 8 assists. Power forward Rafal Kulikowski (205-85, agency: Promotex) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Five Sokol Lancut players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Rafal Krol (200-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and guard Rafal Sobilo (188-89) added 21 points respectively. Sokol Lancut have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-1 record having just one point less than leader Spojnia. SKK Siedlce at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Sokol Lancut are looking forward to face GKS Tychy (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SKK Siedlce will play against Slask (#11) in Wroclaw and hopes to get finally their first victory.
