Regular Season Round 9: GKS Tychy - R8 Krakow 91-96

The game in Tychy was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked R8 Krakow (6-2) played at the court of 8th ranked GKS Tychy (4-4). R8 Krakow managed to secure a 5-point victory 96-91. R8 Krakow made 18-of-18 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. It was a good game for Patryk Pelka (202-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. Naturalized American swingman Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo.) contributed with 29 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Four R8 Krakow players scored in double figures. Swingman Filip Malgorzaciak (192-93) answered with 38 points (!!!) (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Norbert Kulon (187-92) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for GKS Tychy. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for R8 Krakow. Newly promoted R8 Krakow maintains fifth place with 6-2 record. GKS Tychy lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Enea Astoria. R8 Krakow will play against higher ranked Polonia Leszno (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GKS Tychy will play against the league's second-placed Sokol Lancut (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
