Regular Season Round 6: Byblos - Homenetmen 80-90

Rather predictable result when third ranked Homenetmen (5-1) defeated on the road 7th ranked Byblos (1-5) 90-80 on Friday. Homenetmen had a 34-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Byblos were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) chipped in 18 points and 10 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman SirDominic Pointer (198-92, college: St.John's) with 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks and his fellow American import guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 10 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Homenetmen moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Riyadi. Byblos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. Homenetmen will face league's leader Champville in Dik El Mehdi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Byblos will play on the road against Louaize (#9) in Zouk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
