Regular Season Round 7: Hamar - FSU 87-83

Bottom-ranked FSU (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 87-83 loss to seventh ranked Hamar (3-3) in Hamar. They also forced 20 FSU turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by FSU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Larry Thomas (185-93, college: Birm.Southern) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Guard Thorgeir Gislason (188-95) accounted for 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Jett Speelman (201-94, college: Denison) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and Florijan Jovanov (197-91) added 24 points and 12 rebounds respectively for FSU in the defeat. FSU's coach Eloy Doce rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hamar moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Snaefell. FSU lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Hamar's next round opponent will be higher ranked Fjolnir (#4) in Reykjavik and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
