Regular Season Round 9: Aaguacateros - Libertadores 104-107
Date: November 10, 2017
Bottom-ranked Libertadores managed to get the second consecutive victory on Friday night. This time newly promoted Libertadores edged sixth-ranked Aaguacateros in Michoacan 107-104. And what about a second win in a row after ...five consecutive losses. American power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import swingman Mildon Ambres (198-84, college: S.Nazarene) accounted for 24 points and 5 assists. DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Libertadores' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSU Bakersfield) came up with 30 points and American-Puerto Rican Christopher Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Aaguacateros in the defeat. Five Libertadores and four Aaguacateros players scored in double figures. Libertadores (2-5) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Panteras. Loser Aaguacateros dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Libertadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aaguacateros will play again against Libertadores (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
