Very predictable result when fourth ranked IR (5-1) won against 10th ranked Thor Thorl (1-5) in Thorlakshofn 77-69 on Friday. American forward Ryan Taylor (196-92, college: Marshall) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Kristinn Marinosson (194-91) supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four IR players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds by American-Puerto Rican guard Jesse Pellot-Rosa (193-84, college: VCU, agency: Paris Global Sports) did not help to save the game for Thor Thorl. Guard Halldor Hermannsson (188-97) added 10 points and 5 assists. IR have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tindastoll. Loser Thor Thorl dropped to the eleventh place with five games lost. IR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik Valur.
