Regular Season Round 5: Evreux - Poitiers 71-69

ALM Evreux's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Poitiers (1-4) 71-69 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Poitiers won third quarter 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ALM Evreux made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. DR Congolese-Belgian power forward Ruphin Kayembe (200-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Caleb Walker (194-89, college: Nebraska) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five ALM Evreux players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican Devon Collier (203-91, college: Oregon St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and American-Dominican guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points in the effort for Poitiers. ALM Evreux left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Poitiers. It was Poitiers' third loss in a row. ALM Evreux is looking forward to face higher ranked Provence Basket (#8) in Fos-sur-Mer in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Poitiers will play at home against Aix-Maurienne (#17) and is hoping to win this game.
