Regular Season Round 5: Promitheas - Kymis 93-82

Bottom-ranked Kymis (0-5) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to fourth ranked Promitheas (4-1) 93-82 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Promitheas. Kymis managed to win fourth quarter 30-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Promitheas forced 19 Kymis turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Langston Hall (193-91, college: Mercer) who scored 17 points. His fellow American import Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Promitheas players scored in double figures. American guard Lenzelle Smith-Jr (193-91, college: Ohio St.) produced 24 points and 9 rebounds and British guard Teddy Okereafor (193-92, college: Rider) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Promitheas moved-up to second place, which they share with Olympiacos. Kymis lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Panionios. Promitheas will meet Aiolos Trikallon (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kymis will play against the league's leader Panathinaikos (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
