Leader UCD Marian delivered the seventh victory. This time they beat 8th ranked Belfast Star (3-5) 73-61 in Dublin. They outrebounded Belfast Star 48-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. UCD Marian brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American guard Mike Garrow (193-91, college: E.Connecticut) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and the former international point guard Conor Meany (185-86) accounted for 17 points and 8 assists. UCD Marian's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Clement Kulinicz came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and international guard Aidan Quinn (185-95, college: Mayville St.) added 16 points respectively for Belfast Star in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for UCD Marian. They maintain first place with 7-1 record. Belfast Star lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. UCD Marian's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Swords Thunder.
