Regular Season Round 13: Shiga L-Stars - Shimane SM 71-65

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Shiga L-Stars (8-7) won against at home 5th ranked Shimane Magic (4-11) 71-65 on Saturday. Guard Narito Namizato (172-89) fired 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Tomonobu Hasegawa (184-90) chipped in 16 points and 4 steals. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import center Brendan Lane (206-90, college: Pepperdine) added 6 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Shiga L-Stars. They maintain third place with 8-7 record having five points less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Hokkaido L. Shimane Magic lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face Niigata Albirex (#4) at home in the next round. Shimane Magic will play against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
