Regular Season Round 9: La Charite - Lourdes 83-77

Very expected game when 14th ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (3-6) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked La Charite (6-3) 83-77 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. La Charite dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Lourdes-Tarbes' 26. La Charite had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Austen Rowland (186-81, college: Lehigh, agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists. Lens Aboudou (187-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Vincentian-Canadian forward Lien Phillip (203-89) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Greg Pryor (188-95, college: Chattanooga, agency: Court Side) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted La Charite maintains fifth place with 6-3 record. Loser Lourdes-Tarbes dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. La Charite will face higher ranked UB Chartres (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against SO Maritime Boulogne (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
