Regular Season Round 8: Moron - La Roda 80-74

Very important is a road loss of third ranked La Roda (5-3) against eighth ranked Moron (5-3) on Saturday night. Visiting La Roda was defeated by Moron in a tough game in Morón de la Frontera 74-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of La Roda. La Roda was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 42-30 second half run of Moron. Point guard Javier Marin (190-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. The former international power forward Jesus Chagoyen (202-78) contributed with 5 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Carlos Noguerol (186-93) replied with 12 points and 6 assists and American guard DeAngelo Hailey (190-90, college: NW Missouri St.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for La Roda. Four La Roda players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Moron moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated La Roda. Moron will play against higher ranked Myrtia (#3) in Murcia in the next round and it may be the game of the week. La Roda will play at home against Plasencia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
