Regular Season Round 9: Saint Vallier - Gries/Oberhoffen 83-76

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Saint Vallier. Leader Saint Vallier faced second-best Gries/Oberhoffen. Host Saint Vallier (9-0) defeated guests from Bischwiller (7-2) 83-76. Saint Vallier dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gries/Oberhoffen's 36. Saint Vallier looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Saint Vallier made 7 blocks. Saint Vallier's coach Jean-Sebastien Chardon used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Demond Watt (200-89, college: Texas A&M-CC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and guard Oumarou Sylla (185-92) added 19 points respectively. Five Saint Vallier and four Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Saint Vallier have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Gries/Oberhoffen at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Chartres and Saint-Quentin. Saint Vallier are looking forward to face Orchesien BC (#15) in Orchies in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gries/Oberhoffen will play at home against Saint-Quentin (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
