Regular Season Round 13: Nishinomiya S. - Ryukyu GK 62-94

There was no surprise in Hyogo where 4th placed Nishinomiya S. (4-11) was crushed by first ranked Ryukyu GK (10-5) 94-62 on Saturday. Ryukyu GK made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Ryukyu GK had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American forward Hassan Martin (201-95, college: Rhode Island) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Kohei Ninomiya (173-88) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Australian center Jordan Vandenberg (216-90, college: N.Carolina St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ryukyu GK. They maintain first place with 10-5 record, which they share with Toshiba BT and Chiba Jets. Nishinomiya S. lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nishinomiya S. will play at home against Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
