Regular Season Round 8: Olginate - Volpino 81-66

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Olginate (5-3) won against at home 15th ranked Volpino (1-7) 81-66 on Saturday. Olginate dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Volpino's 16 and made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Marco Tagliabue (206-86) who scored 25 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Giacomo Siberna (192-96) chipped in 18 points. Olginate's coach Alessandro Galli used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Edoardo Caversazio (199-96) produced 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Kevin Cusenza (202-93) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Volpino players scored in double figures. Olginate moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Crema. Volpino lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with seven games lost. Olginate will face league's second-placed Piacenza on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Volpino will play against Crema (#5) and hope to win that game.
