Regular Season Round 13: Nagoya DD - San-en 85-57

There was a minor upset in Nagoya where 3rd placed San-en NeoPhoenix (6-9) was rolled over by fifth ranked Diamond Dolphins (6-9) 85-57 on Saturday. Diamond Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to San-en NeoPhoenix's 26. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) fired 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-92) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. American swingman Cartier Martin (201-84, college: Kansas St.) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian center Scott Morrison (213-86, college: Portland St., agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Diamond Dolphins moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated San-en NeoPhoenix. Diamond Dolphins will face league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. San-en NeoPhoenix will play at home against Osaka Evessa and hope to win that game.
