Regular Season Round 8: Alba - Omnia Basket 78-85

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Omnia Basket (6-2) beat on the road 14th ranked Alba (1-7) 85-78 on Saturday. Omnia Basket made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Fabio Di-Bella (185-78) who scored 25 points (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!). Power forward Michele Squeo (207-89) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five Omnia Basket players scored in double figures. Point guard Claudio Maino (180-91) produced 30 points and naturalized Argentinian swingman Santiago Boffelli (195-83) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. Alba's coach Luca Jacomuzzi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Omnia Basket moved-up to third place in B, which they share with Lecco. Alba at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Omnia Basket will face league's second-placed Super Flavor M. in Milano in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alba will play on the road against Cecina (#9) and hope to win that game.
