Leader Albacete delivered the seventh victory on Saturday night. This time they beat bottom-ranked Zamorano (0-8) 100-96. Zamorano was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 29-21 charge of Albacete, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Zamorano's 32. Albacete forced 19 Zamorano turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American guard Garret Covington (196-94, college: W.Illinois, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Javier Marin (194-86) who added 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. American guard Chris Hansen (193-93, college: Idaho St.) responded with 21 points and forward Adrian Mendez (195-93) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Zamorano players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Albacete have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Loser Zamorano still closes the standings with eight games lost. Albacete will meet at home CB Granada (#4) in the next round. Zamorano will play against Real Canoe (#13) in Madrid and hopes to get finally their first victory.
