Everything could happen in Valencia at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Picken Claret and 7th ranked Adelantados had identical 4-2 record. This time Picken Claret used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from San Cristobal 65-59 on Saturday night. Picken Claret forced 26 Adelantados turnovers and outrebounded them 64-44 including a 30-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Adelantados was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American center Adijat Adams (188-92, college: Biola, CA, agency: ProDep Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 21 rebounds. Forward Esther Saez (178-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Picken Claret's coach Carles Martinez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Korinne Campbell (184-88, college: W.Virginia) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and guard Elisabet Vivas (178-92, agency: ProDep Management) added 13 points in the effort for Adelantados. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Picken Claret. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas and Leganes. Loser Adelantados keeps the seventh position with three games lost. Picken Claret will face Alcobendas (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Adelantados will play against Real Canoe (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
