Bottom-ranked Residence managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of three consecutive losses. This time they won against seventh-ranked Racing in Luxembourg 83-72. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for guard Austin Freeman (194-89, college: Georgetown) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Vincent Bailey (201-91, college: Lincoln Memorial) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Residence players scored in double figures. Swingman Scott Morton (195-87, college: Geneseo St.) answered with 14 points and 7 assists and forward Eric McAlister (204-90, college: Stony Brook) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Racing. Residence (3-6) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Contern and Racing. Racing lost their sixth game in a row. Residence will play against higher ranked Etzella (#4) in Ettelbruck in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Racing will play on the road against Sparta in Bertrange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
