No shocking result in a game when second ranked Sokol Lancut (9-1) beat at home 9th ranked GKS Tychy (4-5) 81-74 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sokol Lancut made 7 blocks. Guard Marek Zywert (192-96) notched 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and power forward Rafal Kulikowski (205-85, agency: Promotex) supported him with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five Sokol Lancut players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by swingman Filip Malgorzaciak (192-93) did not help to save the game for GKS Tychy. Power forward Tomasz Deja (200-83) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Sokol Lancut have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-1 record having just one point less than leader Spojnia. GKS Tychy lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. Sokol Lancut will meet Polonia Leszno (#4) on the road in the next round. GKS Tychy will play against Slask (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
