Regular Season Round 5: AEK - Koroivos 86-60

Date: November 11, 2017
The game between second ranked Koroivos (3-2) and sixth ranked AEK (3-2) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Koroivos was crushed by AEK in Athens 86-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Koroivos. The game was mostly controlled by AEK. Koroivos managed to win third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Giannoulis Larentzakis (195-93, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 13 points for the winners and American guard Kelsey Barlow (196-91, college: Ill.-Chicago) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four AEK players scored in double figures. American guard Quenton DeCosey (196-93, college: Temple) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jahii Carson (178-92, college: Arizona St.) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Koroivos. AEK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Panionios.
