Everything could happen in Changchun at the game between two tied teams. Both seventeenth ranked Jilin Tigers and 16th ranked Eagles had identical 1-5 record. This time Jilin Tigers used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Qingdao 137-119 on Saturday night. Jilin Tigers made 19-of-19 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Jilin Tigers outrebounded Eagles 46-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) fired 46 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Carl Landry (206-83, college: Purdue) chipped in a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field). Point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) produced 32 points (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Terrence Jones (206-92, college: Kentucky) added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Eagles players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jilin Tigers (2-5) moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Shanxi BD. Eagles lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventeenth position with six games lost. Jilin Tigers will face Gold Lions (#19) in Tianjin in the next round. Eagles will play on the road against Flying Leopards having rather not much hope for a victory.
