Regular Season Round 9: Cholet - Chalon 70-64

Rather expected game when 18th ranked Chalon/Saor (1-8) was defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked Cholet Basket (3-6) 70-64 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-12. But Chalon/Saor won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Jonathan Rousselle (188-90) who scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Center Jerry Boutsiele (207-92) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cholet Basket players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Cameroonian Jeremy Nzeulie (188-91) who recorded 16 points and American forward James Farr (208-92, college: Xavier) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Chalon/Saor's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cholet Basket moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Paris-Levallois. Defending champion Chalon/Saor stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Cholet Basket will face Paris-Levallois (#16) on the road in the next round. Chalon/Saor will play against Hyeres-Toulon where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
