Regular Season Round 9: Eanna - KUBS 110-74

Bottom-ranked KUBS (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 110-74 loss to tenth ranked Eanna (3-4) in Dublin on Saturday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to KUBS's 44. They outrebounded KUBS 44-24 including a 30-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Tamron Manning (193-93, college: Ky Wesleyan) who scored 30 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). International center Conor Gallagher (208-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Eanna players scored in double figures. Eanna's coach Patrick Glover felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Brian Andrews (196-95) who recorded 28 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Eoin Chubb (188-90) added 12 points respectively. Eanna moved-up to eighth place. KUBS lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. Eanna's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin Killester.
