Regular Season Round 7: Otsuka A. - Kagoshima 63-77

Kagoshima's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Tokyo, where they defeated Otsuka A. (2-2) 77-63 on Saturday. Kagoshima forced 20 Otsuka A. turnovers. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) contributed with 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) answered with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks and center Joe Wolfinger (216-85, college: Citadel) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Otsuka A.Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Kagoshima went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with Tokyo Cinq R. Loser Otsuka A. dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Kagoshima will face higher ranked Toyoda Gosei (#5) in Aichi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Otsuka A. will play on the road against Aisin AW in Aichi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
