Regular Season Round 7: RR Retail Galli - Bologna 84-73

The biggest surprise took place in Valdarno where host RR Retail Galli (6-1) beat league's leader Bologna (6-1) 84-73 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the second position in A2. RR Retail Galli forced 33 Bologna turnovers and outrebounded them 43-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Bologna helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Federica Iannucci (172-93) fired 31 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Francesca Innocenti (170-92) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. RR Retail Galli's coach Orlando William used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Raelin DAlie (168-87, college: Wisconsin, agency: LBM Management) produced 29 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Alessandra Tava (183-91) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Four Bologna players scored in double figures. RR Retail Galli moved-up to second place in A2. Bologna will play next round against Alghero trying to make it back to the top of the standings. RR Retail Galli will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Cagliari V. on the road.
