Regular Season Round 9: Contern - Grengewald 86-73

Very expected game when 8th ranked Grengewald (3-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Contern (7-2) 86-73 on Saturday. Contern looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Rachel Howard (178-95, college: USF) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Brittany Hodges (185-93, college: Furman) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Morgan Pullins (183-93, college: St.Mary's, TX, agency: Two Points) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Cori Coleman (173-93, college: Cleveland St.) added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Contern have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Musel Pikes. Newly promoted Grengewald keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Contern will meet at home Basket Esch (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Grengewald will play against T71 Dudelange and hope to secure a win.
