Regular Season Round 5: Lavrio - Kolossos HH 80-62

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Lavrio (3-2) defeated at home higher ranked Kolossos HH (3-2) 80-62. It looked good early as Kolossos HH took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lavrio had a 29-8 second period charge getting the lead and Kolossos HH was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-80. Lavrio players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Kolossos HH helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard McKenzie Moore (198-92, college: UTEP) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Antwaine Wiggins (200-88, college: Charleston) contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Malcolm Griffin (193-91, college: Fresno Pacific, agency: Higher Vision Sports) answered with 12 points and 7 rebounds and guard TJ Bray (196-92, college: Princeton) added 18 points in the effort for Kolossos HH. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lavrio moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Kolossos HH. Lavrio's next round opponent will be Koroivos (#8) on the road. Kolossos HH will play against the league's second-placed Olympiacos (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
