Regular Season Round 11: Niigata R. - Chanson V-M 62-99

Bottom-ranked Niigata R. (0-11) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 11th consecutive match to fifth ranked Chanson V-M (8-3) 99-62 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Chanson V-M led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 28-of-32 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Chanson V-M forced 19 Niigata R. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was international forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Kanako Masuoka (173-94) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. Power forward Umeki Chikako (175-90) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Manaka Watanabe (177-95) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chanson V-M. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Denso Iris and Mitsubishi K. Niigata R. lost their eleventh game in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost. They share the position with Yamanashi QB. Chanson V-M will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata R. will play again against Chanson V-M (#5) in Shizuoka and hopes to get finally their first victory.
