Regular Season Round 11: Houthalen - Gent Hawks 62-71

Bottom-ranked Houthalen is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to ninth ranked Gent Hawks (5-6) 71-62 on Sunday evening. Power forward Joren Vermoessen (201-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Laurent Lhote (182-84) contributed with 10 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four Gent Hawks players scored in double figures. Center Kuta Niayingwanda (198-0) answered with 9 points and 11 rebounds and guard Enrico Montanari (180-91) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Houthalen. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gent Hawks moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Soba. Houthalen at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Gent Hawks is looking forward to face Giants B (#13) in Antwerp in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Houthalen will play on the road against the league's leader Waregem and will have a slim chance for a victory.
