Regular Season Round 13: Nishinomiya S. - Ryukyu GK 70-77

There was no surprise in Hyogo where 4th placed Nishinomiya S. (4-11) was defeated by first ranked Ryukyu GK (10-5) 77-70 on Sunday. Ryukyu GK made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Nishinomiya S. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Shota Tsuyama (178-96) fired 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) produced 32 points and 6 assists and the other American import forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) added 11 points and 16 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ryukyu GK. They maintain first place with 10-5 record, which they share with Toshiba BT and Chiba Jets. Nishinomiya S. lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nishinomiya S. will play at home against Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
