Regular Season Round 7: Saitama Bron. - Toyoda Gosei 65-101

Undefeated Saitama Broncos (3-1) recorded its first loss at the home court. Hosts were rolled over by seventh ranked Toyoda Gosei (2-2) 101-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Saitama Broncos. Toyoda Gosei forced 21 Saitama Broncos turnovers and outrebounded them 44-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Ryoma Yanagiuchi (182-92) helped adding 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Four Toyoda Gosei players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Nishi Yutaro (176-92) responded with 23 points and American forward Ferrakohn Hall (203-90, college: Memphis) scored 18 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyoda Gosei moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Otsuka A. Saitama Broncos at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. Toyoda Gosei will play against Kagoshima (#7) in Renova in the next round. Saitama Broncos will play on the road against Tokyo Cinq R. (#8) and hope to get back on the winning track.
