Regular Season Round 7: Shanghai S. - Xinjiang FT 110-104

We should mention about the upset which took place in Shanghai, where higher ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (4-3) lost to ninth ranked Sharks (5-2) in a road game 104-110 on Sunday. Xinjiang Flying Tige was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American Nick Minnerath (207-88, college: Detroit Mercy) fired 42 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) chipped in 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis) produced 46 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and American forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sharks have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Defending champion Xinjiang Flying Tige dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Sharks will face Beijing Ducks (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play against Bayi Rockets (#20) and hope to win that game.
