Regular Season Round 15: Tokyo Z - Kanazawa Sam. 95-90

There was a change at the B League D2 leadership position after last games. Round 15 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Kanazawa Sam. (8-7). They were defeated by sixth ranked Tokyo Z (5-10) 95-90 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kanazawa Sam.. Tokyo Z made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was a great evening for American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Tatsuya Nishiyama (171-88) helped adding 12 points and 8 assists. Five Tokyo Z players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) with 31 points and 6 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and guard Ide Yuji (181-88) scored 25 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tokyo Z moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kagawa FA. Newly promoted Kanazawa Sam. dropped to the second position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Cyberdyne IR. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
