Regular Season Round 15: Yamagata - Sendai 89ers 88-83

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Sendai 89ers (6-9) against fourth ranked Yamagata (6-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Sendai 89ers were defeated by Yamagata in a tough game in Yamagata 83-88. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) who scored 28 points and 4 assists. Guard Masanari Masanari (186-91) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Ryunosuke Yanagawa (187-91) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Yamagata and four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Yamagata moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Sendai 89ers. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
