No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Magec Tias (3-4) edged 13th ranked Adareva (1-6) in Laguna 69-66 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. Magec Tias forced 19 Adareva turnovers. Strangely Adareva outrebounded Magec Tias 42-27 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for guard Tamara Montero (168-94) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Argentinian power forward Ornella Santana (183-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward TyDesheaia Pool (185, college: SE Louisiana) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and Chilean point guard Sendy Basaez (170-96) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Adareva. Magec Tias moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with CVCD Granada. Adareva lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with six games lost. Magec Tias will face Distrito Olimpico (#10) in Madrid in the next round. Adareva will play on the road against Almeria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
