Regular Season Round 7: Promete - Almeria 63-61

Promete's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Almeria (2-5) 63-61 on Sunday. They outrebounded Almeria 46-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for guard Maria Ylenia Manzanares (175-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Naturalized Paraguayan guard Claudia Aponte (175-91, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 25 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winners. Power forward Alicia Gonzalez (187-86) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and forward Pamela Moral (175-82, agency: ProDep Management) added 15 points in the effort for Almeria. Promete (1-6) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place in Group B, which they share with Adareva. Newly promoted Almeria keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Promete will face league's leader Gran Canaria in Las Palmas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
