Regular Season Round 9: UCC Demons - Killester 95-104

There was a minor upset in Cork where 4th placed UCC Demons (5-3) were defeated by sixth ranked Killester (6-3) 104-95 on Sunday. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Killester shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was international point guard Ciaran Roe (170-93) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Portuguese Rodrigo Garcia chipped in 26 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Lehmon Colbert (198-88, college: Jacksonville) who recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds and the former international guard Adrian OSullivan (180-93) added 26 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Killester moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser UCC Demons dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Killester's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Eanna.
